Macadamia oil is something your skin will really enjoy. Once you try it for the first time, you'll wonder why you didn't use it before.

70% of the world's macadamia nut consumption comes from the small town of Gympie in Queensland. Macadamia nuts are native to Australia and are found in southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Macadamia oil is rich in squalene.

What is squalene?

Squalene is a lipid that skin cells produce naturally. It keeps our skin hydrated and healthy. But in our 20s and 30s, our skin's ability to produce squalene slows down and it becomes rougher and drier. Squalene helps reduce oxidative stress, protects the skin and prevents the appearance of wrinkles.

Squalene maintains the fluidity of cell membranes, which is crucial for the skin's outer layer. Skin with a high squalene content is hydrated and healthy. Dry and damaged skin is low in squalene. And macadamia oil is full of squalene!

Macadamia oil helps the skin produce keratin

In addition to containing squalene, macadamia oil is rich in palmitoleic and oleic acids. Both palmitoleic and oleic acids help skin cells known as keratinocytes produce keratin in the outermost layer of the skin. Like collagen, keratin is a protein necessary for healthy skin.

Keratin protects the skin barrier and works hard to keep your skin firm. This protective barrier protects the skin from harmful pathogens and potentially dangerous environmental factors (think smoke, pollution, UV rays…).
Macadamia is one of the few plants that contain this acid, which helps in the formation of keratin.

Macadamia oil closely resembles human sebum due to palmitoleic and oleic acids.

Application and action

Macadamia oil nourishes the skin and moisturizes it wonderfully. High in oleic, linoleic and palmitoleic acids, it is useful for treating stretch marks, preventing cracking and reducing scarring. It is also known to help smooth and repair dry hair.

Macadamia oil contains phytosterols, which make it effective in reducing inflammation. Along with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, macadamia oil can help with sensitive skin. It is known to reduce the formation of rashes, reduce itching, and help relieve eczema and psoriasis.

Physical Application: Scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and fine lines, relieves itching and rashes, eczema, psoriasis, antioxidantPhysical action: Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, revitalizing emollient, anti-aging, firming, antibacterial.

Palmitoleic acid and squalene contained in macadamia seed oil help prevent premature wrinkles by stimulating the regeneration of skin keratinocytes. Linoleic acid also helps reduce trans-epidermal water loss, keeping the skin well hydrated and supple. These moisturizing properties of macadamia oil are useful for dry skin, mature skin, baby skin, lip balms and eye creams.

Palmitoleic acid and squalene found in macadamia oil help prevent lipid peroxidation and reduce skin cell damage. This antioxidant boost helps ward off skin damage from environmental stress and promote healthy skin.

In a small bowl, mix together the macadamia butter and honey. Add the aloe vera gel and mix well. Finally, add the oatmeal powder and mix everything until you get a smooth paste. If your mask is too thick, you can add a little more macadamia oil, if it's too runny, add more oatmeal powder.

Wash your face with a gentle facial cleanser . Apply the mask as thickly as possible. Leave it on for about 20 minutes. Then rinse the mask with lukewarm water and immediately apply a face cream to lock in moisture.

BODY SCRUB WITH MACADAMIA OIL

½ tea cup macadamia oil
2/3 teaspoon white sugar
1/3 teaspoon of coffee grounds
10 drops Tonka bean essential oil

Regular exfoliation regenerates the skin, removes the dead, dull layer of skin cells and promotes the growth of new skin cells. This is one of the most important steps in any skin care routine. This macadamia oil body scrub will leave your skin soft, smooth, nourished and radiant.

First, mix the sugar and coffee grounds. Add the macadamia butter and mix. You should get the consistency of wet sand. Add the Tonka essential oil as well.

Use this body scrub in the shower (it makes the skin very slippery, so be careful). Apply to wet skin and exfoliate for 5-10 minutes with gentle circular motions. Then wash off the scrub and apply a body moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp.
