How to apply shower gel or shower cream correctly?

 Applicator selection

• Use your hands: This is the simplest and cleanest option. Your hands are ideal if your skin is extremely dry or you have a skin condition. However, keep in mind that you may use up more product this way.

• Sponge or loofah: A great choice for creating a rich lather and exfoliating dead skin cells, leaving your skin smooth. If you have very sensitive skin, these applicators may be too abrasive.

A word of caution about sponges and loofahs: They easily harbor bacteria, so it's important to keep them clean. Let them air dry after each bath. Soak them once a week for 5 minutes in a solution of 1 part bleach to 9 parts water. It's recommended to replace your sponge or loofah every 3 to 4 weeks.

Steps to a perfect shower

1. Wet your skin: Stand under the stream and use warm water to moisten your body. Tip: Warm water is better than hot, as hot water can further dry out the skin.

2. Dispense product: Pour a dime-sized amount (about 1 tsp / 4,9 ml) onto your hand or applicator. Rub your hands together or squeeze the sponge to create a lather. (Note: Natural products usually don't create as much lather as chemical products.)

3. Apply to body: If you are in the shower, step back from the water while applying. Start at the neck and work your way down to the toes – from the cleanest to the dirtiest areas. Do not apply the shower cream to the face or intimate areas – these require specialized products.

4. Rinse and dry: Rinse with warm water. Limit shower time to 5-10 minutes. Once out, pat dry with a towel, without rubbing aggressively.

Post-bath care

Apply moisturizer after washing. Although shower cream contains hydrating ingredients, it is not a substitute for your regular moisturizer. Apply lotion, cream (for more moisture), or body oil to “lock in” hydration and provide a protective layer.
