- Organic clove essential oil is obtained from the flower buds of the tree Syzygium aromaticum from a family myrtaceae, which after drying resemble a clove flower – hence the name. The aroma is warm, woody and strong, with a distinct clove note. Clove flowers contain a record amount of essential oil – up to about 20%. The oil is very powerful and should be used with caution, highly diluted on the skin. In aromatherapy it is valued for its warming effect; its aroma also has an insect repellent effect. It harmonizes well with cinnamon, ginger, mint, rosemary and almost all citrus oils.

- For massage, dilute in vegetable oil to 0,5% maximum - about 1 drop per 10 ml base or 5 drops per 50 mlNever apply undiluted to the skin.
- To a container of cream or lotion: a maximum of 1 drop and only if well tolerated; for the face, use an even lower concentration.
Dilution and safety: For external use only. Clove essential oil is a dermal sensitizer (rich in eugenol) – observe the 0,5% limit. Always do a patch test. Keep away from eyes, mucous membranes and children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a health condition, consult your doctor first. Store in a dark, dry place at 15–25°C.
